Hero MotoCorp ends fiscal with 6.63 million two wheeler sales

Hero MotoCorp has sold a record
6,631,826 units of two-wheelers for the financial year ending March 31, 2015),
registering a growth of 6.2 pc over the corresponding period last year when the
company had sold 6,245,960. For the month of March 2015, the company sold 5,31,750
unit sales, as compared to 5,24,028 units in
March 2014.
According to a press release
issued by the company, FY’15 was a year of milestones at Hero MotoCorp – in
terms of its sales performance, expansion of its global footprint and as well
as product innovation and customer engagement.
In the month of March, HMC-MM
Auto Ltd., the Joint Venture between Hero MotoCorp Ltd. and Milan (Italy)-based
Magneti Marelli, also inaugurated its first autonomous ‘Production and
Development Centre’ at Manesar (Haryana).
The new centre will serve as a
production facility and innovation hub to develop new-generation fuelling
systems for HMCL two-wheelers. With the commencement of operations at the
Development Centre, HMCL is set to become India’s first two-wheeler
manufacturer to have its own EFI Product-line.
During the month, the company also
appointed Ashok Bhasin as the Head of Sales, Marketing & Customer Care
function for the key India market. Bhasin was previously associated with
Reckitt Benckiser where he used to lead their operations in entire Central
Africa region as General Manager and as Managing Director, RB Nigeria.
